“2 Cocosi” is Romanian for “Two Roosters”. It’s also the name of a village pub (like hundreds of others across the country) in Lacusteni, Valcea, a small village in southwestern Romania (like hundreds of others across the country). Everything here is banal – and, at the same time, works like a microscopic X-ray of the country itself: its people who try to make ends meet, its stories of immigration and returns, its past and present, with hints of its future. This series was part of an artistic residency at the Otetelisanu Manor.
